　　幕末时期，维新派在传奇的刽子手拔刀斋绯村剑心（凉风真世 配音）引退后，选出同样具有高超剑术的志志雄真实（池田政典 配音）继续着暗杀任务。在维新即将获得胜利之际，为掩盖种种不可告人的秘密，新政府密谋杀害志志雄。谁知全身遭到重度烧伤的志志雄却从地狱活转，怀着巨大的仇恨制定了“京都破坏计划”，他的手下网罗了四乃森苍紫、濑田宗次郎、宇水、张等一大批高手。与此同时，剑心、京都御庭番众、斋藤、比谷清十郎纷纷行动起来，朝向京都进发。一场决定历史命运的大战即将拉开序幕……
